Frequently Asked Questions
Find quick answers to your questions about REAA course enrolments, national accreditation, assessments and launching your real estate career.
Course Information
Are your courses nationally accredited and recognised?
Yes. Real Estate Academy Australia is a Registered Training Organisation (RTO No. 32426) delivering nationally accredited courses.
Unless specified otherwise (we also offer some non accred courses, which are specified on the course page).
What is a Unique Student Identifier? (USI)
A Unique Student Identifier (USI) is a government-issued reference number that creates a lifelong record of your nationally recognised training in Australia.
All students undertaking nationally recognised training must have a valid USI. REAA is required to collect and verify your USI before you can commence your training.
Creating a USI is free and only takes a few minutes. If you don’t have a USI, or you’ve forgotten it, you can create or recover it through the official USI website.
To create a USI, you’ll need one form of valid identification, such as a driver’s licence, Medicare card, passport, birth certificate, citizenship certificate, or ImmiCard.
Are the any pre-course requirements before commencing?
Yes. Before you can access your course content and assessments, you must complete the compulsory Pre-Enrolment Assessment available in your student portal.
Please note that each Australian state and territory has its own eligibility requirements for obtaining a real estate licence or registration. These may include minimum age requirements, character and suitability checks (fit and proper person), and other state-specific criteria.
We recommend checking your eligibility with your relevant state regulator before enrolling.

How long do I have to complete my course?
The time allowed to complete your course varies depending on the qualification or course you are enrolled in. Your course commencement date is the date you enrol.
The maximum course duration, along with any available extension options, is outlined in the Student Handbook and on the relevant course page prior to enrolment.
We encourage all students to familiarise themselves with these timeframes before commencing their studies. If you have any questions about your course duration, please contact our Enrolments Team.
How quickly will my work be graded?
Your enrolment includes standard grading, with assessment turnaround times outlined in the Student Handbook.
Once you have completed and submitted all required assessment tasks for your course, you must notify our training team by using the ‘Send Trainer Message’ function within your learner portal to advise that your course is ready for grading. Partially submitted assessments cannot be graded.
Standard assessments are graded on a rotational basis in the order they are received. If you require your assessments to be graded sooner, Priority Grading is available for purchase once all assessment tasks have been completed and submitted.
For more information about grading timeframes, please refer to the Student Handbook. If you have any questions regarding the grading process, please contact our team using the ‘Send Trainer Message’ function within your learner portal.
What if I submit an incorrect answer?
You are provided with up to three (3) attempts to successfully complete the assessment requirements for each unit of competency. If an answer or assessment task is marked Not Satisfactory, you will receive feedback to help you address the areas that need further work before resubmitting.
If you are unsuccessful after your third attempt, you may be required to pay a unit resubmission fee before any further attempt is provided.
Additional attempts beyond the third attempt are at the discretion of the RTO and are considered on a case-by-case basis. Where an additional attempt is requested, you may be required to submit a written request in accordance with the Student Handbook.
Please refer to the Student Handbook for further information about assessment attempts, resubmissions and applicable fees.
Licence Information
Can I use my Certificate or Licence in another state or territory?
Real estate licensing and registration requirements vary between Australian states and territories. Completing a qualification or obtaining a licence or registration in one state does not automatically mean you are eligible to work in another state or territory.
If you intend to work interstate, you should check the licensing or registration requirements with the relevant state or territory regulatory authority. Depending on the jurisdiction and the licence or registration you currently hold, you may be eligible for mutual recognition or may need to complete additional training or meet other eligibility requirements.
We recommend confirming the requirements with the relevant regulatory authority before enrolling if you intend to use your qualification in a state or territory other than the one the course is designed for.

Do you offer Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) or Credit Transfer?
Yes. We offer Credit Transfer (CT) for units of competency that you have previously completed as part of a nationally recognised qualification or statement of attainment.
To be eligible for Credit Transfer:
You must provide an official qualification certificate or statement of attainment issued by a Registered Training Organisation (RTO).
The unit code must match exactly with the unit in your new course. For example, if you have successfully completed CPPREP4001, you may be eligible for Credit Transfer for CPPREP4001 in your current qualification.
If your unit codes do not match, or you have extensive industry experience but have not previously completed the exact unit, you may also be eligible for Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL). RPL assesses your existing skills, knowledge and workplace experience against the requirements of the unit of competency.
If you would like to discuss your eligibility for Credit Transfer or RPL, please contact our Enrolments Team at info@reaa.com.au, and we will be happy to guide you through the process.
How do I get a refund?
For refund information please see the REAA Student Handbook
Do you offer RPL?
We offer course credits for units of competency that you have previously completed that are in the course so you do not need to repeat the unit of competency. You must provide an official qualification with these units to gain credit and the unit code must match exactly, eg, if you have previously completed CPPREP4001 you will get credit for CPPREP4001. Please contact the enrolments team via email (info@reaa.com.au) for further information.
When do I need to make payment for the course?
All course payments are upfront (up to $1500.00), upon enrolment. When you go through the enrolment process on the website you will be able to pay with either VISA, Mastercard, PayPal, Humm or via Direct bank transfer.
