Course overview
The QLD Real Estate Registration Certificate Course provides the training required to apply for registration as a real estate salesperson in Queensland.
If you want to start a career in real estate sales or property management, this course is a pathway into the Queensland property industry.
Once registered with the Queensland Office of Fair Trading, you can work for a licensed real estate agency under appropriate supervision. Your registration allows you to undertake authorised activities within the scope of your registration.
What Does the QLD Real Estate Registration Certificate Course Include?
The course includes 12 units of competency from the CPP41419 Certificate IV in Real Estate Practice.
These units cover essential skills and knowledge for working in the Queensland real estate industry, including:
- Real estate legislation and professional responsibilities
- Ethical practice and working with clients
- Property sales and marketing activities
- Property management and leasing processes
- Communication and customer service
- Working within a licensed real estate agency

How Does the Online Course Work?
REAA delivers the QLD Registration Certificate Course through a flexible online learning platform.
You can study at your own pace and access course materials at times that suit your schedule.
Your online learning experience includes:
- Learning guides and course resources
- Knowledge questions and practical assessment activities
- Access to the online student portal
- Trainer assistance through the student portal
You must successfully complete all required assessments to receive your statement of attainment.
What Can You Do After Completing the Course?
After successfully completing the required training, you can apply to the Queensland Office of Fair Trading (OFT) for registration.
The OFT assesses registration applications and determines whether applicants meet the relevant eligibility requirements.
Once registered, you may work in authorised real estate sales or property management activities for a licensed agency.

Before you Enrol…
To complete an REAA course transparently, you will need:
- a laptop or desktop (Mac or Windows computers are both compatible)
- the latest version of Adobe Reader (currently Adobe Reader DC) and Microsoft Word
- internet access so you can finish the assessments via the online learning platform (Google Chrome Internet browser is recommended)
- video recording device (phone, laptop, etc)
Once you apply for the QLD Registration Certificate course with REAA, you will receive a confirmation email and login details to access your course. If you cannot locate these please check your junk/spam folder and following this, email through to info@reaa.com.au.
Note: ALL students are required to obtain a UNIQUE STUDENT IDENTIFIER (USI). Your Statement of Attainment cannot be issued if you have not provided us with your USI. For more information, or to apply for your USI, visit www.usi.gov.au.
After you Enrol…
The certificate in real estate course…
You have up to 6 months to complete the course. As it is an online and completely self-paced course you can work through the content and assessment within your own time and at your own pace within this time frame. The course consists of assessment tasks, questions, and video role plays.
Through each unit, you will gain insights and skills relating to marketing and communication profiles, property inspections, property management, real estate sales and managing buyer relationships. You will also learn to interpret ethical practice in real estate, understanding how to reduce financial and reputational risks, meet consumer protection standards, and deal responsibly with ethical breaches and challenges.
All units of competency and course content are nationally accredited and recognised by the QLD Office of Fair Trading.
Upon Completion…
Once you have completed and submitted all of your course assessments you will be asked to activate your grading. From here, your assessments will be marked by REAA’s assessing team and when deemed satisfactory in all assessments we will verify your account and you will receive your Statement of Attainment. Following this, you are required to apply directly to the QLD Office of Fair Trading for your Certificate and to then complete your real estate salesperson registration.
