Over the last couple of years, the Brisbane and South-East Queensland market has been strong for some time. While great for business, stock for metro Brisbane and coast are dwindling and we are about to face a migration according to RE/MAX managing director Michael Davoren.
Asset-rich people from south of the border, in particular, Sydney, will be attracted north to Brisbane’s affordable property and good job prospects.
Queensland is entering a golden era and Mr Davoren sees more than $8 billion in equity would transfer to the housing market.
His advice is “They [real estate agents] need to be very active in their prospecting now to have the relationships in place in order to get the listings and have the stock they will require.” Those that focus on their relationships and reputations will succeed.
