QLD CPD Sessions

Starting June 6, 2025, Queensland will implement mandatory Continuing Professional Development (CPD) for property professionals, including real estate agents, salespersons, auctioneers, and resident letting agents.

Each CPD year, these professionals must complete approved training sessions to maintain their licences or registrations.

The CPD sessions are categorised into two types:

Type 1: Accredited Units

These units are taken directly from the following training packages approved by the QLD Office of Fair Trading

  • CPP41419 Certificate IV in Real Estate Practice
  • CPP51122 Diploma of Property (Agency Management) or

The units provide comprehensive course materials, assessments, and provide a Statement of Attainment upon successful completion.

Benefits:

For anyone holding their Queensland Registration Certificate course and looking to upgrade to a Full Real Estate Licence, these units offer dual benefits:

  • They count towards your Continuing Professional Development (CPD) requirements.
  • They contribute towards fulfilling the formal training requirements needed to upgrade your licence.

This means you can simultaneously maintain your professional standing while working towards advancing your career with a full licence.

Type 1: ‘CPD versions’ of accredited units.

These sessions are based on units from the national property services training package. These do not result in obtaining or count towards a unit of competency.

Benefits:

These sessions provide valuable knowledge and skills aligned with accredited training without committing to the full assessment requirements, making them a more affordable and time-efficient option.
By completing these sessions, you fulfil your Continuing Professional Development (CPD) requirements, helping you maintain your licence or registration.

Type 2: CPD Version

These sessions are non-accredited and focus on industry-relevant topics.

Benefits:

Type 2 sessions are designed to be more accessible and adaptable to your schedule, making professional development easier to fit into your busy work life.

These sessions focus on real-world industry topics on topic categories set by the QLD Office of Fair Trading. These include communication styles, mediation, customer satisfaction and disputes, and managing complaints; equipping you with actionable skills to excel in your role.

Completing these sessions contributes to your Continuing Professional Development (CPD) requirements, ensuring you meet mandatory obligations while enhancing your expertise.

Professionals will need to confirm completion of their annual CPD requirements when renewing their licences or registrations.
The current CPD requirements for each year are set by QLD Office of Fair Trading as either;

(Accredited or CPD Version)
