Your Certificate of Registration (Assistant Agent) is only issued for 4 years! During this time, you will need to apply for an individual property licence (Class 2) to be able to continue working in the real estate industry.
Have you already completed your Assistant Agent (CPP41419) units? Are you wanting to be able to apply for a Class 2 Licence?
This course allows you to take your Assistant Agent units (from the CPP41419 package) and complete the remaining units in the Certificate IV in Property Practices to be able to apply for a Class 2 Licence with NSW Office of Fair Trading.
The Certificate IV in Real Estate Practices is the qualification required to be able to apply to the NSW Office of Fair Trading for a Class 2 Licence. Class 2 Licence holders will be known as ‘Licensed Agents’ and are able to sell and manage properties.
As part of this course, you will have access to 13 units of competency from the CPP41419 training package. Please note, NSW Office of Fair Trading require 12 months industry experience as an Assistant Agent before you can successfully apply to be classified as a Class 2 Licenced Agent.
When completing this course, REAA will provide you with learning guides, additional resources as well as direct contact with our trainers via email in the student platform.

Before you Enrol…
You must have completed the 5 units of competency from the Assistant Agent Course (CPP41419)
To complete an REAA course transparently, you will need:
- a Laptop, Mac or Windows computers are both compatible
- Adobe Reader (latest version currently Adobe Reader DC) and Microsoft Word
- internet access to complete the course via the online learning platform (Google Chrome Browser is Recommended)
- video recording device (webcam, phone, laptop, etc)
Do I have to complete role plays in this course?
Yes, completing the role plays is a mandatory part of this course. They are required to demonstrate your competence in line with the unit of competency. The role plays are designed to simulate real-world interactions in the real estate industry, and submitting them is essential to be deemed competent in the course.
These role plays are intended to prepare you for real-world interactions in real estate. Role plays will be a routine requirement when working in the industry and part of your ongoing professional development. If you’re unable to complete the role plays in person with another person, you have the option to perform them via video platforms like Zoom. You can complete the role plays with a friend, family member or even purchase one-on-one assisted role-play sessions via the REAA website.
Once you enrol into a course with REAA, you will receive a confirmation email as well as and additional email with your login details for access to the student platform.

The Course…
REAA recommends an average of 8-12 hours to complete each unit of competency (13 in total) delivered in the course. Please note, these hours are based on REAA’s past course completions and this time will vary from student to student. You have up to 12 months to complete the course. The course consists of assessment tasks, questions and video role plays.
All units of competency and course content are recognised by the NSW Office of Fair Trading.
Upon Completion…
Once your course is completed, before your qualification can be released, you are required to upload your Statement of Attainment into the student portal with your 5 Assistant Agent units of competency from CPP41419. We will then issue you the full CPP41419 Certificate IV Real Estate Practices.
Upon the successful completion of your real estate training and assessments, your assessments will be marked by REAA’s assessing team and when deemed satisfactory in all assessments, you will receive your qualification from REAA. Following this, you attach a copy of your qualification to your NSW Office of Fair-Trading application form and submit this to NSW Office of Fair Trading. Once this has been done, NSW Office of Fair Trading will evaluate your eligibility against their criteria and will issue your Certificate.
